Summary: Leaders in the field of International Engineering our Client is looking for an experienced NPI Project Manager to report to the Global Engineering Director.The successful candidate will have a proven history of being able to provide programme management of multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initial business case through to final product delivery. The NPI Programme Manager will manage a portfolio of projects as directed by the Global Engineering Director.

Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

Hold overall responsibility for meeting and delivering the Project Requirements, pro actively undertaking risk management and executing risk mitigation activities. Additionally, addressing any contract or business issues, and resolving conflicting priorities and tasks as they arise


Designing and applying an appropriate project management framework for the project Planning and monitoring the project and ensuring that the project deliverables are achieved on time, on budget and to the required quality

Coordinating all relevant functions across the business to ensure NPI projects are delivered ensuring contributions from all functions


Preparing and maintaining the Project Management Plan and subordinate plans/schedules.
Managing any third party inputs to the project.


Managing risks to the project’s successful outcome, including the development of contingency plans where appropriate.


Managing overall progress and use of budget/resources, initiating corrective action where necessary.


Change control and any required configuration management.


Reporting through agreed reporting lines (including monthly Project Boards) on project progress.


To hold, chair and present at programme meetings including design, progress and contract reviews


Managing stakeholder communication as agreed with the Project Sponsor.


Liaison with appointed project assurance roles to assure the overall quality, direction and integrity of the project.


Adopting the Company Business Management System and incorporating applicable processes into the project.


Managing project administration


Preparing an End Project and Lessons Learned report (including follow-on action recommendations as required).


Other duties as required by the Global Engineering Director

Job Requirements / Knowledge and Experience

Proven experience of project and contract management in a complex operational environment.


Effective management of resources and technical risk


Ability to lead and influence a multi-disciplinary team

Maximising operational efficiency.


Strong customer/supply chain relationship-building skills.


Financial and commercial awareness.


Highly developed analytical/problem solving/decision making skills


Ability to identify key challenges and implement timely action to achieve the desired output
Good presentation skills


APMP or PRINCE 2 or equivalent (essential) and APM Practitioner Qualification (desirable)


Post-graduate business qualification (desirable)


Knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques
